When to use this template
This door to door sales rep job description template is for employers hiring canvassers, field reps and territory sellers. Use it when you open a new territory, staff up for a busy season, or replace reps across several locations at once. Door-to-door candidates decide fast. They want to know the pay structure, the schedule and how to apply before they read anything else. The templates below put those details up front.
Each version uses [bracketed] placeholders. Replace every one before you post. If a placeholder does not apply to your role, delete the line rather than leaving it vague.

Customization tips
- Lead with pay structure. State base, commission and payout timing in plain words. Vague pay lines cost you applicants.
- Name the territory. Reps want to know where they will walk and how far they will drive.
- Describe a real day. Two or three sentences about a typical shift sets expectations better than a long duty list.
- Match the schedule to the work. If most selling happens in the late afternoon and evening, say so.
- Keep it short for mobile. Most field candidates read and apply from a phone. Use Template 2 for job boards and social posts.
- Make applying fast. A short form, a text-to-apply option and a self-serve interview link reduce drop-off.

What to avoid
- Earnings promises you cannot back up. Describe the pay structure, not a best-case income.
- Hiding commission-only pay. If there is no base, say it clearly.
- Labeling worker classification or legal terms your team has not confirmed. Have whoever handles compliance review the final posting.
- Hype words and vague perks. Concrete details build trust faster.
- Long application forms. Ask only what you need to schedule a first conversation.
- Placeholders left in the live post. Read the final version once on your phone before publishing.
Post the job. Then reply in minutes.
